Born and raised in Southington, Dr. Lena M. Aglio has spent over half a decade in the world of dentistry, providing patients with high-quality dental care so that they can achieve their best smiles. Her favorite thing about her job is helping people maintain their pearly whites while also building strong and lasting relationships with everyone who walks through our doors. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Aglio always knew that she wanted to be a dentist since she was at a very young age. When she was a girl, she enjoyed visiting her childhood dentist and gained a serious interest in helping others maintain health in some capacity. Her dentist would provide care as well as help ease her anxieties during her appointments, which inspired her to pursue dentistry as a career. Additionally, dentistry allowed her to combine two of her favorite things: science and making meaningful connections with people. Since then, she’s been loving her ability to improve smiles, relieve pain, and educate others about their pearly whites while also making a difference in the lives around her.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Aglio studied at Tufts University before going to the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine to earn her dental doctorate. She has also attended state and regional meetings annually to remain up to date on the latest advancements in dental technology, techniques, and treatments. She is also a member of professional organizations such as the:

  • American Dental Association
  • Connecticut Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry (AGD)

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Whenever she isn’t at the dental practice, Dr. Aglio loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and their loved ones. Her hobbies involve enjoying live music, exercising, skiing, going to the beach, and hanging out with her family. One fun fact about her is that she used to play college softball and was even able to go to the College World Series twice!
